Pocahontas Research

So, using my Woody doll, and an Indian doll that we will soon, hopefully, purchase- we will focus on the story of Pocahontas and show through my photos that unlike most movies, the Indians aren't the bad guys, and that in fact it was the "Cowboys" who took over the Native Indians' land.

I researched Pocahontas and have found this so far;
Captain John Smith (aged 28), was leading an expedition of the new Virginia colonists in Dec 1607 when he was taken captive by Indians. The indians, lead by Chief Powhatan, were going to kill him when a girl aged 11, (Pocahontas) stopped them. Chief said they were now friends and adopted Smith as his son. Pocahontas would make frequent visits back to Jamestown.
